What you need to know about the Hybrid Battery HealthCheck
No, if you are concerned about the condition of your battery, you should take it to a licensed professional. They have the requried scan tools to properly and safely test the true state of health of your high-voltage battery.
A score of 60 or more means the battery is in *good condition. The battery boasts consistent voltage output and holds charge well. Good news :)
A score between 30 and 60 means the battery is in *average condition. Keep an eye out for a more active cooling fan, as extra charge (no longer held) is turned into heat.
A score below 30 means the battery is in *poor condition. The capacity of the battery has significantly reduced and thus suffers a high self-discharge rate. Visit a local specialist to get the car checked.

Hybrid Electric Vehicle Battery Replacement Anxiety, or HEVBRA in short, refers to the concern among hybrid owners about the performance and longevity of their batteries. This can be a significant source of stress for them.
Anyone looking to purchase a used vehicle will also want to know that there are no surprises under the hood (or back seat, more like).
Keep an eye on the battery. If you notice the fan becoming noisier than usual, or the battery draining/reaching full charge more quickly, it's probably time to get a professional to take a look at the car.
There are two things batteries don't like: heat and sitting idle for long periods of time.
You can help manage heat by ensuring the fan on the battery is cleaned regularly by your mechanic and by keeping the air intake clear from obstructions. Keep reading for more general servicing tips.
Regular exercise is also a good idea. Hybrid drive batteries self-discharge when they are not being used, which over time may impact the performance of the battery.

Extremely happy with the level of service from John and Joel. These guys have a deep, technical knowledge of Hybrids and batteries, and they took the time and care to answer our questions. Joel even showed us the real-time ECU data during a test drive with his laptop once the new battery was installed.
Very competitive on price and better warranty terms than Toyota. Highly recommended.Google review
Late review but a massive thank you to John and his team for resurrecting my 2007 Prius. John knows batteries like Google! So knowledgeable and informative. Patient and accommodating.
