Infinitev Achieves Australia's First NTRO Certification for the Re-Use of HBEV Batteries
Infinitev is proud to announce a significant achievement in our commitment to advancing sustainability within the automotive industry. Last week, Infinitev was awarded Australia’s first-ever NTRO certification for the re-use of Hybrid Battery Electric Vehicle (HBEV) batteries in Australia, making us pioneers in the field of battery re-manufacturing.
The National Transport Research Organization (NTRO) is Australia's leading applied research organization for transport innovation, driving the development of industry standards and best practices.
The certification was presented to Infinitev’s General Manager, Dickson Leow, by NTRO’s Chief Executive Officer, Michael Caltabiano, at a ceremony held at NTRO’s Port Melbourne headquarters. This recognition follows a rigorous and independent evaluation of our process for battery reuse by NTRO, ensuring compliance with the highest industry standards.
Leading the Charge in Battery Reuse
This certification underscores our commitment to supporting the circular economy by extending the life of critical resources. By setting a high standard for battery reuse, Infinitev is contributing to the broader effort to reduce battery waste and optimizing the lifecycle of advanced battery technologies.
As electric and hybrid vehicles continue to gain traction, the need for sustainable and reliable battery reuse solutions has never been more critical. Infinitev has always been at the forefront of innovation in this space, and our partnership with NTRO underscores our commitment to setting the benchmark for quality and safety in the industry.
The NTRO Certification is more than a recognition of compliance; it is an affirmation of our leadership in pioneering a framework that others can follow. By meeting NTRO’s stringent criteria, Infinitev has demonstrated that our processes are not only technically sound but also aligned with the broader goals of sustainability and circular economy principles.
A Milestone for the Circular Economy
The award is not just a win for Infinitev but also a significant step forward for the circular economy in Australia. By achieving NTRO Certification, Infinitev has set a new standard for the reuse of vehicle (traction) batteries, providing a model that can be adopted across the industry. Our certified process will now serve as a proof-of-concept pilot, informing national strategies and contributing to the broader adoption of sustainable practices in the automotive sector.
NTRO’s certification process included a thorough review of our technical claims, supporting documentation, and an on-site audit of our facilities. The result is a robust framework that assures stakeholders of the safety, reliability, and consistency of our battery reuse processes.
Looking Ahead
This certification marks the beginning of a new chapter for Infinitev and the wider industry. We are excited to continue our work with NTRO and other stakeholders to drive the adoption of high standards in (BEV) battery reuse. Our mission is to ensure that every reused battery is safe, efficient, and contributes to a sustainable future.
We thank NTRO for their partnership and recognition of our efforts. Infinitev remains committed to leading the way in the reuse of electric vehicle batteries and fostering a greener, more sustainable automotive industry.
