Infinitev Achieves Level 5 - Beyond Best Practice rating from the Australian Packaging Covenant Organisation (APCO)

At Infinitev, sustainability isn’t an afterthought—it’s embedded in everything we do. As we work to create a circular economy for hybrid and electric vehicle batteries, we understand that how we package and transport our products matters just as much as what we deliver.

That’s why we’re proud to announce that in our very first year of reporting to the Australian Packaging Covenant Organisation (APCO), Infinitev achieved a performance score of 82%, earning us a Level 5 – Beyond Best Practice rating. You can view a copy of our report here.

Infinitev's APCO Performance Summary

Why We Do This

Sustainability is embedded in the way we operate. Our mission to create a circular economy for hybrid and electric vehicle batteries naturally extends to the way we package and transport them. Batteries that are remanufactured, repaired, and repurposed with circularity in mind deserve packaging that reflects the same ethos.

When packaging is poorly designed, it becomes a hidden source of waste and emissions. But when done right, it becomes a vehicle for impact. That’s why we’ve embedded sustainable packaging into our operations, starting with our Sustainable Packaging Policy, which guides our approach across the business and with our partners.

What Are the Sustainable Packaging Guidelines?

The Sustainable Packaging Guidelines (SPGs) are a framework developed by APCO to help businesses design packaging that is:

  • Fit for purpose

  • Resource-efficient

  • Recoverable

These guidelines are key to driving innovation and enabling industries to transition to low-waste systems. At Infinitev, they form the foundation of every packaging decision we make.

Why It Matters to Us

As a leader in circular battery solutions, we know that sustainability is about rethinking the entire supply chain—and that includes packaging. To uphold the principles of circularity and waste elimination, we are committed to:

  • Minimising single-use packaging

  • Prioritising reusable and recyclable materials

  • Designing for recovery, reuse, and material circularity

This commitment helps our customers and partners reduce their environmental impact without compromising on safety or operational performance.

What’s Next

Sustainable packaging is a continuous journey of innovation and improvement. Building on the momentum of our Beyond Best Practice rating, we’re now focused on implementing findings from ongoing recycling audits to further enhance our packaging strategy. We'll also be actively measuring our progress against our APCO Action Plan to ensure we continue leading with impact and accountability. By refining our materials and expanding our closed-loop systems, we’re committed to setting the standard for packaging sustainability in the EV battery industry and beyond.
