Hyundai Kona teardown

Another day at the office for our Infinitev engineers. Today, they started a teardown of the Hyundai Kona 64kWh pack with a detailed diagnostic of the battery's health. By connecting to the battery management system we were able to get true and accurate read of the state of charge and state of health of the various stacks and modules in the battery. Characterising or grading modules is an important first step in determining the next-best use of those modules - can we reuse them in a vehicle, can we repurpose them for energy storage systems, or should we recycle them for materials recovery?
