F150 Lightning's 131kWh battery delivers 480km of range

The extended range battery of the Ford F150 Lightning is something to behold. Weighing in at more than 800 kilograms, it delivers plenty of oomph to the twin motors which combine to make 580 horsepower. The 131kWh pack delivers a driving range of 300 miles (480km). Vehicle owners can charge their F150 Lightnings at home via 110- and 220-volt outlets but the truck is also capable of juicing at public DC fast-charging stations, and Ford says it can charge from 15 percent to 80 percent of battery capacity in 44 minutes. Ford also engineered the F150 Lightning to serve as a backup generator and says a fully-charged truck can supply up to three days of electricity for the average household in the event of a power outage.

Here's the truck we saw on display at the Ford Rouge factory in Dearborn, MI.
